Description

Emerald is considered the world's finest green gemstone and has been highly prized and coveted for centuries, from Cleopatra to European royalty. Emerald is part of the beryl family, and availability of fine quality is limited. Almost all emeralds have inclusions that are visible to the naked eye — the trade term Jardin is used to describe these characteristic mossy-like inclusions. The majority of emeralds are also treated, with fractures filled with colorless oil to improve the stone's color and overall appearance.

These round cabochons display an opaque medium-light to medium green coloration and are a classic choice for jewelry settings. Clean with warm, soapy water only. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can damage the oil treatment.
