These 5-1/2" (140mm) round nose smooth jaw parallel pliers are an essential bench tool for jewelers and metalsmiths working with wire bending, loop forming, and metal shaping. Both jaws are identical, tapered round, and smooth — delivering consistent, even pressure along the full length of the jaw. The parallel jaw design keeps both faces tracking together as they close, giving you reliable control through the entire range of motion.

The tapered round jaws taper from 6mm at the base down to 1.8mm at the tip, with each jaw measuring 22mm in length. When closed, the jaws meet precisely at the tip with a small gap that gradually widens — reaching just under 1mm at the thickest point of the taper. Maximum jaw opening is 3/8" (just over 9mm). Spring-loaded handles keep the pliers in the open position at rest, reducing hand fatigue during extended use. The smooth jaw faces can also be fitted with leather pads to create a non-marring surface for delicate or finished work.

Like most steel tools sold here, these pliers arrive coated with a thin factory-applied grease film for corrosion protection during storage and shipping. Simply wipe away the grease with a clean rag before use.
