A small rotary tumbler kit for burnishing jewelry, castings and small parts to a bright, work-hardened finish. The Thumler’s Tumbler Model A-R1 pairs the 110V A-R1 rotary tumbler with rust-resistant stainless steel mixed shot and Otto MF 610 concentrated burnishing compound. Built to run continuously, the A-R1 burnishes slowly and consistently, and it is made in the USA by Tru-Square Metal Products.

Compatibility

  • Burnishing: stainless steel shot with MF 610 compound brightens and work-hardens castings and fabricated parts.
  • Cut-down: plastic or ceramic media with detergent compounds give more aggressive surface refinement.
  • Lapidary: rock tumbling with silicon carbide for grinding and cerium oxide for polishing.

Notes

  • Do not exceed barrel capacity; the total load includes media, parts and liquid.
  • Rinse stainless shot after use and allow it to drain; stainless resists rust and is easier to maintain than plain steel shot.
  • Follow incremental grit stages and thorough cleanouts when cutting with plastic or ceramic media or rock tumbling abrasives.
