Product Details

This ultra white fabrication alloy is nickel-based and contains no gold and no silver. Designed as a multi-purpose master alloy for both casting and fabrication applications, it is suitable for making white gold alloys from 10K through 18K. Sold by the troy ounce (20 DWT).

Note: There are proprietary metals in the formulation that are not included in the composition listing below.

Features

  • Nickel-based multi-purpose alloy for casting and fabrication
  • Compatible with white gold alloys from 10K to 18K
  • Contains no gold and no silver
  • Pre-alloying with aggressive stirring and fluxing recommended for a uniform mixture
  • Boric acid is the recommended flux — do not use carbon fluxes or refining fluxes such as soda ash or saltpeter
  • Avoid flux in bottom-pour automatic casting units

Usage Guidelines

  1. Pre-Alloying (Fine gold + alloy): Heat to 1090°C – 1100°C / 1994°F – 2030°F with aggressive stirring and fluxing to ensure a uniform mixture.
  2. Casting Temperature for 10K Alloyed Grain: 1085°C – 1105°C / 1985°F – 2021°F
  3. Casting Temperature for 14K Alloyed Grain: 1025°C – 1045°C / 1877°F – 1913°F
  4. Casting Temperature for 18K Alloyed Grain: 995°C – 1015°C / 1832°F – 1859°F

Notes

  • Melt temperature may vary depending on the type of casting unit used.
  • Flask Temperature: Recommended range is 540°C – 675°C / 1004°F – 1247°F, depending on flask size, karat, and jewelry type.
  • Quench Time: 25 minutes.
  • Investment Removal: Most standard investment removers will successfully remove investment powder. Aggressive acids are not recommended, as they cause stress corrosion and surface damage.
  • Scrap Reuse: A 70% fresh – 30% scrap mix is recommended. White gold alloy has approximately one-third the reusability of yellow gold alloys.
  • This product contains nickel. See applicable Proposition 65 warnings.
