The Value Line Jig Vise Miter Cutter is a reliable bench tool designed for making perfectly flat cuts at 90° or 45° on tubing, wire, and sheet stock. Manufactured in Pakistan at a factory with a strong reputation for quality hand tools, this tool is functionally identical to higher-priced European versions from Switzerland and France — delivering the same precision performance at a significantly lower cost. The surface of this tool is more susceptible to showing wear marks from files than European counterparts, but it remains a highly serviceable option for jewelers and metalsmiths seeking an economical solution.
Made from super hard tool steel rated at 58 HRC, the tool measures 1-7/8" × 2" and accepts stock up to 1/2" thick. The lower opening is used for 90-degree cuts, while the upper opening holds stock for 45-degree cuts. Both the flat 90° slot and the 45° slot feature a small integrated stop, with 35mm of usable distance from that stop to the edge of the tool — accommodating flat sheet stock up to 35mm in length. Simply mount the tool in a bench vise or hold it in hand, then saw or file against it for a precisely flat result every time.

Warning: Certain files — including Glardon-Vallorbe Valtitan files — are as hard as or harder than this jig vise miter cutter and may mark the surface of the tool. Strong force with nearly any file may also scratch the vise and potentially damage the file. Marks on the vise surface are not indicative of a product defect, but reflect contact with a harder material.
