Description

Dapping punches and a dapping block dome flat metal discs into cups, beads, and rounded forms at the bench. The Value Line Pro Dapping Punch and Block Set delivers a noticeably better finish than the standard Value Line dapping set, making it a smart upgrade for jewelers and metalsmiths who want polished results. This 24 piece set includes highly polished steel dapping punches ranging from 2.3mm to 25mm (approximately 3/32" to 1"), paired with a 2" square steel dapping block featuring 19 hemispherical depressions ranging from 3.8mm to 40mm (approximately 5/32" to 1-5/8"). Everything organizes neatly on an included numbered wood storage stand, and the set is made in India. Note: this is not a matched set, so not every punch has a corresponding depression in the block, but the highly polished punches make it an excellent choice for everyday forming work.

Great for the price

For $50 this is a great set. I'm impressed! The punch heads are even, all the necessary surfaces have a good polish and the half spheres are deep enough. If you're going to save money on an affordable set, don't be disappointed it isn't perfect. The smallest punches are a little short of a full circle and a handful of the divots in the block have sharp edges. All of these are easy fixes or simple to work around for a metalsmith
