Description

A 10X triplet loupe for grading stones, reading hallmarks, and inspecting fine detail at the bench. Designed and manufactured by Carl Zeiss, the Zeiss 10X Triplet Loupe is engineered to deliver an exceptionally large field of view with outstanding optical clarity for jewelers, gemologists, and precision craftspeople who demand the highest standard in optical performance. The model reference is Einschlaglupe D 40, part number 205171-9200.000 057L09.

At the heart of this loupe is a 13mm diameter glass lens with a field of view that spans nearly the entire 13mm aperture, a distinction that sets it apart from triplets that may offer larger lenses but cannot match this usable field of view. The lens features an anti-reflection coating to reduce glare and improve contrast, ensuring clean, accurate color rendition during stone grading, hallmark reading, or detail inspection.

The aplanatic-achromatic lens system design eliminates distortion and chromatic aberration across the full field of view, including the peripheral zones, a result of Carl Zeiss's advanced optical research. As noted in the included owner's manual: "The field of view is therefore exceptionally large for the magnification power… the aplanatic-achromatic design of the lens systems provides you with a field of view which is practically free of distortion and chromatic aberrations right into the peripheral zones."

The optical assembly is housed in a durable plastic casing that provides protection against accidental drops, making it a reliable companion at the bench or in the field. When folded, the loupe measures a compact 25mm × 38mm × 15.5mm, fitting easily in a pocket or tool roll, and a 2.5mm hole through the rivet allows the loupe to be hung from a chain for convenient wear or storage.
